RTA has announced the timings for services like customer service centres, car parks, public buses, Dubai Metro, marine transit modes, driving institutes, and vehicles testing and registration centres during Ramadan.

Dubai Muncipality has launched free “swimming wheelchair” service at Al Mamzar Beach on Tuesday as a community initiative. This kind gesture by Dubai Muncipality will definitely help the elderly and people with special needs to enjoy their time in water like others do.

Sharjah Planetarium officials have announced that Ramadan is likely to begin on June 29,Sunday with daylight hours of about 13 hours and 45 minutes. The fasting period will be 15 hours and 15 minutes in UAE.

Dubai Tram is expected to be on track by November this year. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), announced that the construction work and testing on Dubai Tram has been achieved and the project has now hit a 93% of completion rate.

RTA has launched Smart Taxi app, a new mobile application which helps you to book a taxi by just shaking your phone. The app will identify your location and sends a driver to you. You just simply have to enter your mobile number into the app,before using it.

Dubai's new tourist attraction, the first butterfly garden will be open within 2 weeks. This park, which is claimed to be the second largest in the world after Malaysia,is located at Dubai Miracle Garden. This butterfly park built at a cost of 35 million dirhams ,will be housing nearly 35,000 butterflies.

 

With the beginning of new academic year,around 118 schools in Dubai is expected to increase their fees. The applications for fee increase have been received and processed by KHDA from 135 schools. Eight more school's applications is yet under process.
