If you wish to hire a car in the UAE you will be issued with a UAE temporary driving permit by car hire companies on presentation of:
- Valid national or international driving licenses,
- Two photographs and a
- Your passport.
You will have to follow the driving rules strictly:-
- Driving is on the right side.
- Use of alcohol while driving is strictly prohibited.
- Seat belts are compulsory.
- Children under 12 are prohibited from traveling in front seats of vehicles
- In case of accidents, never leave the accident scene before the police arrives

Bus Service
There are Bus services available at the Airport which run from all Terminal buildings to the City and around 80 hotels for the convenience of Passengers. The buses operate 24 hours a day at 30 minute intervals. A shuttle bus also operates between the terminals throughout the day.
Bus Routes from the Airport:
Airport Bus 401 – Running from the Airport to the Deira section of Dubai via DNATA Airline Centre, Al Maktoum Road, Deira Taxi Station and Al Sabkha Bus Station.
Airport Bus 402 – Running from the Airport to the Dubai City area via Deira City Centre, Al Karama, Golden Sands, Al Mankhool and Al Ghubaiba Bus Station.
The rate is 3 AED per journey.
Dubai Airport Terminal Transfer Buses
To travel between the terminals, there are free shuttle services. A free shuttle bus at Dubai Airport runs between Terminals 1 and 3 every 20 mns, 24 hrs a day and the journey takes only around 5-10 minutes

Metro From Dubai Airport
A cheaper way to reach your destination is to make use of the Dubai Metro. The metro stations at Dubai Airport are located at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. The stations are accessed through the respective arrivals sections, with automated trains running every 10 minutes from 6 am to 10 pm each day .On Fridays however, they run from 1pm till 11pm. These times change during the holy month of Ramadan. Note that you can only take two pieces of luggage with you, including hand luggage.
