Dhow Cruises

May 2, 2011 by BK

A Dhow is a small traditional Arabic sailing vessel. It was used in ancient days for transporting traded goods in and out of Dubai and some other countries along the coast of the Arabian Peninsula. Now we are able to take a Dhow Cruise, where the the Dhows are decorated in a traditional manner and and it sails along the Dubai Creek. We can see the historic monuments and the recent landmarks as we cruise. We can get to see the old town, National Bank of Dubai, Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Sheikh Saeed's house, birthplace of Sheikh Saeed, Heritage village, golf club, parks and well as the famous modern landmarks. The Dubai Dhow Cruise is for 2 hours between 8:30 PM and 10:30 PM. The cost is around 180 Dirhams for adults and 100 Dirhams for children. It is also a great venue for honeymooners where you could rent the entire Dhow at 2000 Dirhams or half the Dhow at 850 Dirhams.

Dubai Dhow Cruise Timing:

  • Location for Boarding is  Deira Creek Behind National Bank of Dubai & next to Sheraton Creek Hotel
  • Pick up – 19:00
  • Boarding time – 20:00
  • Cruise :  20:30 -22:30

The Dhow will return after 2 hours of sailing.
