In the past decade or so, Dubai has emerged as the ‘Entertainment Capital of the World’. The rapid transformation that the city has undergone from a small pearl diving and fishing village to a global metropolis is unbelievable. The vibrant nightlife, fantastic theme parks, extraordinary architecture, and rich culture beckon travelers to this astonishing city time and again. A holiday to this destination is a perfect blend of luxury, glamour, and culture making it an unparalleled destination. If you are planning a vacation to Dubai, here are a few attractions that must surely be part of your itinerary.

Palm Jumeirah

A first of its kind in the world, Palm Jumeirah is an artificial archipelago in the shape of a Palm tree. This piece of engineering marvel is visible even from space. The island is dotted with trendy restaurants, opulent resorts, stylish apartment complexes, and five-star hotels. One of the major highlights here is the Atlantis, the Palm hotel that is perched on the corner of the Persian Gulf. You can sign up for helicopter tours or skydiving sessions to view the captivating beauty of the island from above.

Dhow Cruise

Set sail on a peaceful cruise onboard the Dhow and enjoy a lovely evening in the company of your dear ones. The cruise takes you on a fantastic journey of Dubai Creek or Dubai Marina. You can feast your eyes on the beautifully illuminated monuments around you. Witness spectacular traditional performances such as belly dancing and Tanura dance show. Go to the deck and enjoy the tranquil ambiance and the cool breeze of the evening. Complete your journey with a sumptuous BBQ buffet dinner with a variety of mouthwatering delicacies.

Burj Khalifa

Hands down one of the best tourist attractions in Dubai, Burj Khalifa stands proudly on the Dubai skyline in all its glory. Head to the observation deck in one of the fastest elevators in the world and witness the awe-inspiring 360-degree view surrounding you. The golden desert sands on one side and the turquoise ocean on the other side are a visual treat. You can spot celebrated landmarks such as Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah with the assistance of telescopes placed here. Truly, one of the most memorable experiences in the city.

Dubai Miracle Garden

Dubai Miracle Garden is an incredible paradise brimming with flowers of brilliant shades and myriad hues. With more than 100 million flowers on display, it is the perfect place for nature lovers. It is the largest natural flower garden in the world spanning over 72000 square meters. There are various models made with flowers such as Burj Khalifa, airplanes, Disney characters, and these models change every year. The verdant greenery and natural beauty of this place will leave you spellbound. The garden is open from November to May so if you plan a holiday around these months, make sure you visit this gorgeous place.

Desert Safari

One activity that brings out the authentic Arabian lifestyle experience in Dubai is the desert safari. You have plenty of desert safaris to choose from based on your time and interest. Give in to your adventurous side by trying activities such as sandboarding, dune bashing, and quad biking. There are other exciting activities such as camel riding, shisha smoking, henna painting, falconry, and dressing up in traditional attires in store for you. Your evening gets more interesting with an array of cultural live entertainment like belly dancing, fire show, puppet show, and Tanura show. Relish a delectable BBQ buffet dinner under the stars and soak in the entire experience.

Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo

This gigantic aquarium gives you the perfect opportunity to get up close, and personal with the magnificent aquatic animals. Walk through the glass tunnel and surround yourself with these beautiful creatures. You can spot piranhas, stingrays, manta rays, seahorses, sharks, and more. If you dare to swim with the sharks, you can wear a wetsuit and dive right into the water. You can also try cage snorkeling, glass-bottom boat tours, and an encounter with a giant crocodile.

Ski Dubai

One of the most visited Dubai attractions, Ski Dubai is a massive indoor ski resort in the Middle East, that provides a different experience to its visitors. It not only offers the best respite from the sweltering Dubai heat but also has numerous snow activities to keep you engaged. You can find everything from toboggan runs, and a freestyle snowboard zone, to an ice cave, and a chairlift. It has 5 slopes with different degrees of steepness where you can enjoy skiing, and other cool activities. There is also a penguin park where you can interact with these adorable creatures.

Al Bastakiya Quarter

A visit to this place is the best way to get a glimpse of the olden days of Dubai. Al Bastakiya Quarters is one of the oldest neighborhoods that is replete with sand-colored buildings and wind towers. Wander through the lanes and you are sure to find colorful art galleries, charming restaurants, cozy cafes, and more. The buildings here are built using natural materials such as gypsum, coral, palm fronds, teak, and mud. Visit the Sheikh Mohammed Center for Cultural Understanding and Dubai Museum to learn about the Emirati customs and history. The Arabian Tea House is an institution here and is an ideal place to have some refreshments.

Dubai Mall

Shopping and Dubai are synonymous with each other. A visit to the fabulous Dubai Mall is a must if not for shopping then just to admire this sprawling structure. It is home to a multitude of recreational options apart from some of the best international stores – an ice rink, a virtual reality park, a massive indoor waterfall, an aquarium, several local eateries, fine dining restaurants, and multiplexes. If that’s not all, the famous Dubai Fountain is located right outside and it leaves you mesmerized by putting up a spectacle of colors, lights, music, and water.

Dubai Creek and Souks

Dubai Creek has always been an integral part of the city’s history. Running through the center of the city, this saltwater creek cuts the city into Bur Dubai and Deira. You can cross the Dubai Creek in an Abra for just 1 dirham and visit the souks on both sides of the creek. Souks are traditional markets in Dubai that have everything from herbs, perfumes, dry fruits, spices, essential oils, teas, footwear, traditional garments, and other knick-knacks. The Gold Souk and the Spice Souk are the most popular ones here. The glittering gold and diamond display on the store windows will leave you speechless and is worth a visit when in Dubai.

Conclusion

The list of things to do in Dubai is endless and you will be spoiled by choices of the awesome things this city offers. The city is on a reinvention spree offering more and more exciting attractions to its visitors. Be it warm hospitality, thrilling adventures, or great shopping, this city is full of wonders.
