For the third year, pure-bred Arabian camels will race in this event patronised by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council. The event is organised by the Dubai Camel Racing Club (DCRC).
Camel categories include Haqaqa (two years old), Laqaiya (three years old), Jatha’a’ ,Thanaiya and Haul (She camels) & Zumool (He camels, raised six years). There will be races for camels owned by Sheikhs and camels owned by tribesmen.
This festival aspires to preserve the cultural heritage of Dubai. Venue is the Al Marmoom Smart Camel Racing Track. Cash prizes and culturally-significant symbols, including swords and daggers, will be awarded. Local, regional and international visitors are encouraged to attend.
