Dubai Getaways : Hatta

With rocky crevices, natural water pools and palm oases, Hatta is UAE’s one of the popular getaways. If you are in a mood for an exciting 4 wheeler drive, don’t be hesitated, it’s a great spot for wadi driving.Head on to Hatta which is 150 kilometres away from the city of Dubai and enjoy the thrill with your friends and family!!

Hatta, an enclave of Dubai emirate, is located the craggy Hajar Mountains. It is a relatively cool place with humidity-free climate and the main attraction being magnificent mountain scenery. and it has an excellent motorable route, you can enjoy a variety of terrain from rough roads to majestic sand dunes. Also, there are some areas where you need to drive through pools of water.

Main Attractions

  • Hatta Dam – One of the popular spots is the dam constructed on one of the wadis.Drive up a steep hill and you can have a beautiful view of a green lake.
  • Hatta Rock Pools – The natural spring water stores in the mountain fill up the pool and it’s a  mesmerizing feel to have a refreshing dive after the exciting journey. Hatta Rock Pools is all about brimming waterfalls, rocky canyons, mountain scenery and turquoise water pools.
  • Heritage Village – This historical village takes you to the 16th century and gives you a picture of the life lead by Emirati people thousand years back.The village consists of 30 buildings made of mud, hay, sandalwood and palm fronds.Hatta Heritage Village is overlooked by two round towers – the Southern and Northern Towers -built in the 1880s, during the rule of Shaikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Butti.It is also known as “two stones”, and was built to protect the city from external attacks.
    • Admission – Free
    • Timings – Sat-Thu 8am-8.30pm; Fri 2.30pm-8.30pm

Since you may have to pass through Oman territory during the journey, make sure to carry your passport and emirates id with you to show at the check-point.
