Getting Police Clearance in Dubai

Police Clearance Certificate Dubai

A police certificate is an official document issued by police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. Criminal records may include arrest, conviction, and possibly criminal proceedings. Police certificate is also known as good citizen certificate, good conduct certificate, police clearance certificate, or judicial record extracts.

How to get PCC from UAE

Applicants may have to submit fingerprints and certain personal information to request a Dubai Police criminal record check, and the police or government agency may charge a fee. If no record found, the police certificate will indicate such.

Dubai Police CID Office Location

The police clearance certificate in Dubai can be obtained in person from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) located at Dubai Police Head Quarters near Al Mullah Plaza and opposite Metro station. There is also an existing office in Bur Dubai for those living in Satwa and the surrounding areas.

Documents required for UAE Police Clearance Certificate
  • Dubai Police Clearance application form. Also known as Dubai Police Good Conduct Certificate application form
  • Original passport with copy
  • 2 Passport size photographs
  • An applicant must be holding at least six months old residence visa from UAE.

There are two sides of the Dubai police clearance certificate form, one in English, the other in Arabic. In the case the request is to one of the Police Stations, application should be in Arabic and if it is to CID, it can be in Arabic or English.

Fee for Dubai Police Good Conduct Certificate

The fee for the certificate is approximately 110 AED. The fees paid are not refundable.
If you have an Emirates ID card, fingerprints are not needed as the ID card has the fingerprints.

Timeframe for obtaining a UAE PCC Certificate

Dubai Police Certificate of Good Conduct can be obtained from Dubai Police within 2-3 working days for residents within the country. The timings of Dubai Police General Headquarters are from 7.30 am to 2.30 pm. (Tel: 700040000)

The certificates will be delivered by post and is valid for three months from the date of issuance. The police clearance certificate is valid for the whole of UAE.

For non-resident requests, applicants may send applications by courier with a pre-paid airway bill to the relevant office listed below. You must submit with your application the following:

  • a set of fingerprints certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE Embassy in your country of current residence;
  • a copy of your passport;
  • a copy of your former residence visa; and
  • applicable fees
