Emiratis, residents and companies can soon have access to some government services via smart phones and tablets. The Dubai immigration authorities unveiled a package of new smart services which will be available to customers and can be managed anywhere irrespective of time.
Captain Salem bin Ali, Manager of AMER Customer Care Section – GDRFAD, said “Emiratis may issue or renew the residence visas of their foreign wives and domestic helpers.”
In addition,he said that residents may also issue, renew, and extend the residence visas of their families through smart phone services.
He also said that even companies can have access to these smart services. “They can renew or cancel entry permits, and submit an application to the ministry of labour, let alone many other services available.”
He stated that a new channel is introduced for using smart gate which scans the barcode on any personal files of any national or resident upon arrival on country entry checkpoint.
Dubai International Airport have more than 100 e-gates at Terminal 1 and 2.At terminal 3, 14 smart gates are available for over 17-year-old residents with free registration and activation.
With the increase in the number of passengers,smart gates will definitely help to control the passenger flow,saves time and effort and thus enhance comfort of the people.
