The UAE is ready to track and counter the outbreak of infectious diseases like the coronavirus. A frenchman was admitted in a hospital in France due to a potentially fatal respiratory virus which is closely associated with SARS, a few days after his visit to Dubai.
This is the second infection connected to the UAE. There has been around 31 infections &18 deaths. The doctors have assured that the situation is in control.
"Since we got reports of the first cases in Saudi, we have worked closely with the Health Authority Abu Dhabi Seha," said Dr. Asim Malik, consultant and chief of infectious diseases at Mafraq Hospital.
Guidelines and protocols have been developed and this assists the staff in identifying and managing the suspected cases.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Health said that there are no reported cases of novel coronavirus in the UAE, reported Wam.
The symptoms of novel coronavirus are severe acute respiratory illness with symptoms of fever, cough, and shortness of breath.The WHO and CDC have not issued any travel health warnings for any country related to novel coronavirus.
