After filling the form, you will have to submit it along with the following documents:
- Passport copy,
- Covering letter from employer,
- Visa application and
- Two passport photographs
Once all the documents have been submitted and verified, you will be handed a blank Health card and directed to the Maktoum Hospital or the Kuwaiti Hospital, officially referred to as Al Baraha Hospital for getting your medical tests done. It is better to go in for the tests during the early morning hours, midweek when there should be a minimum of patients queued up.
Medical Tests for Health card in Dubai
You will have to undergo a number of medical tests which include blood tests and Chest X-rays. This is to convince the medical authorities that you are free from infections and contagious diseases. Once the test results have come and are satisfactory, you will receive a date when you can go and collect your Health Card in Dubai. Sometimes you may be called in for a re-test .Do not be alarmed as this may simply because you had a mild infection on the day you gave the test or anyone who gave the test in your same batch has an unsatisfactory result.
However if you are diagnosed with a contagious disease, there is a possibility that you will be sent back home from Dubai. Please note that people who are HIV positive, or suffer from TB/Hepatitis will not get a residency visa in Dubai and will have to face deportation
The total costs for the whole procedure would come to around 500 Dirham or more. You require about 310 ?? 350 dirham in cash to pay for the card while submitting the application and around 210 dirham for the medical tests.
Dubai Health Card Online
There is yet another option to apply for your online health card using the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) website. You will have to create a Patient ID and go to Patient services to fill the application; alternatively you can also download the Dubai health card application form and go to the nearest DHA centre for further proceedings.
Validity of Health Card in Dubai
The Health card is valid for one year and can be renewed online the subsequent year. It is always advisable to support the Health card facility with a private medical insurance which will assist in covering medical expenses more economically and getting better services at Private clinics.
